Migration from Exchange Web Services to Microsoft Graph

Steps to Enable Microsoft Graph for Delegation Features:

To migrate delegated mailbox and calendar functionality from Exchange Web Services EWS to Microsoft Graph, complete the following steps:

  • Upgrade Email+ to version 5.5.0 or later.

  • Update the Email+ App Configuration to enable Microsoft Graph support.

Note: Do not remove any existing EWS-related configuration keys during the transition.

  • Enable the Graph API feature by adding the following value to the Key Value Pair enabled_features configuration:

    • graph_api

Before enabling the graph_api feature flag and configuring the Microsoft Graph KVPs, ensure that Email+ version 5.5.0 or later is installed on user devices. Enabling this feature on earlier versions is not supported.

  • Configure the Microsoft Graph settings:

    • email_graph_host=graph.microsoft.com

    • msal_graph_resource_scope=https://graph.microsoft.com/.default

    • msg_min_allowed_auth_mode=modern_auth

    • realtime_notifications_protocol=1

  • Deploy the updated configuration to managed devices through your UEM/MDM console.

  • Verify delegated mailbox and calendar functionality after deployment to ensure Microsoft Graph connectivity is working as expected.

Email+ will use Microsoft Graph API for delegated mailbox, shared mailbox, delegated calendar, and shared mailbox calendar functionality.
